‘Songs of Faith and Sacrifice’/ ‘Piosenki o wierze i poświęceniu’ by Przemek Wojcieszek, directed by Margot Przymierska.
‘Songs of Faith and Sacrifice’ is a collection of sketches from lives of four characters, who defy their life roles as loving parents, a priest and a prostitute.
Piotr and Anna are a young couple from Warsaw. Piotr ‘does not need to believe in anything, to get up in the morning’ while Anna is searching for spiritual guidance. When their seven-year-old son Igor, faints at school suddenly their days fill up with dreadful emptiness and Coke from the hospital vending machine. Mariusz- a priest and Anna’s friend, leaves her the rosary, while a prostitute – Agnieszka, leaves something more than just scratch marks on Piotr’s neck.

“Polish Artists in London is about much more than putting on shows - they are throwing the doors open onto their exploration of ways to find a vocabulary for bi-lingual performance well beyond surtitles, with admirable honesty. PAiL’s first show was slick, concentrated and economical - affirming their clear and focused mission. Margot’s vision for Polish Artists in London is razor sharp and rightfully ambitious”- Hester Chillingworth, Artistsic Director of GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN
